Master Lee, Grand Master Lee’s son, started studying Tae Kwon Do when he was five years old. His father instilled in him a love and passion for Tae Kwon Do and taught him to always have an open mind in training, reminding him that there is more than one way to learn.  This infused Master Lee’s quest to always be curious about the best ways to practice martial arts. He has trained with many top teachers and coaches from all over the world.

In his teenage years Master Lee trained at the top Korean University for taekwondo, Yong-in University and was the Wisconsin and Illinois State Taekwondo champion and coach.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in communications, Master Lee took over operations of J.K. Lee taekwondo and helped grow the organization to 6 locations. His most cherished accomplishment was seeing 17 of his black belts become high school valedictorians. He has been featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, NBC Today Show, CNN and was recognized by the Milwaukee business community for becoming one of Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. His message and mission to improve his students’ lives was also the focus of an MTV Made episode in 2009.

It is said that to be the ultimate teacher, you have to be the ultimate student. Master Lee considers himself a professed “nerd” of martial arts. Besides being a 6th degree master of taekwondo, he has studied many years of judo, hapkido, escrima, boxing and Jiujitsu. He has trained with some of the best teachers in the world,Judo Grandmaster Byung Dae Suh, Hapkido Grandmaster Gedo Chang, MMA Coach Eddie Cha, Jiu Jitsu teacher Henry Matamoros, Escrima Grandmaster Percival Pableo and countless hours of seminars with other renown martial art teachers. He has also spent time training with law enforcement teachers Gary Klugiewicz and Dave Young.  Their teachings and concepts have always made Master Lee evaluate the effectiveness and applicability of the techniques that are passed on to his students.

Master Lee has trained many corporate staff at the Miller Brewing Company, Harley Davidson and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance company. He has worked with local schools and universities including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and helped train airline pilots and crew following the September 11th attacks. He is currently the president of the American Sabumnim Association, ASA which is an association of top taekwondo teachers in the country who evaluate best business and teaching practices in their school. He also spends much of his time volunteering and growing the JK Lee City Youth Martial Arts Program which spreads the fruits of Tae Kwon Do with those who may not otherwise have had access to it.  In his free time Master Lee likes to spend time with his family and family dog.

Currently, Master Lee is the head corporate teacher for J.K. Lee’s and teaches between the J.K. Lee locations.
