My 90% - Brian Reagles
The Webster dictionary defines a master as: To acquire complete knowledge or skill in an accomplishment, technique or art.
Is this really what an Master in Tae Kwon Do is, to have complete knowledge in the art, or is it much, much more?
When I started training in Tae Kwon Do back in 1983, all I wanted to do was learn how to fight and protect myself from bullies and maybe save my life someday. I really didn't care about the philosophy, teachings, or where Tae Kwon Do came from; I wanted to learn how to fight. Oh boy, did that change over the years training under Grand Master Lee. He has always stated that Tae Kwon Do is 10% physical and 90% mental. I really didn't understand this philosophy until I reached my 4th degree black belt in 2011.
